My Little Valentine

After a long, rough labor, I spent my Valentine's Day evening on a love high like I've never been.

 It's hard to even find the words to record what I felt on this day, and even what I feel now. My heart is overflown with gratitude and thanks to God who has blessed us and this amazing family we've created. My son fits in our lives like a missing piece we never even knew how much we needed. He's made my husband and me a closer team. He's made my baby girl a big sister eager to love and help. He fits in so perfectly, and at 4 days old, it's difficult to imagine this level of happiness before he was here.

2/14/11 @ 7:18 p.m. my precious little Gideon was born.

After 16 hours of the worst pain I've ever been in in my entire life, ever, I spent the rest of the evening filled with the most love I've ever felt, ever.

I feel like there's so much to write about, so much I want to make sure to remember, and so much I know I will never forget. 

but for now, while both of my babies are sleeping, and I feel rested myself, 

I'll share all of these sweet mushy gushy pictures of my brand new, beautiful baby boy:

 

Besides huggin, kissin, swaddlin, and lovin, we've been doing a fair amount of sunbathing.

Gideon has jaundice, so we've been soakin' up some sweet sunshine since we left the hospital. 

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
