Cheap Crafts

It's been raining a lot down here in South Louisiana, and when I've been cooped up inside for too long I start to want to change things around the house.
Unfortunately there's no room in the budget for any decorating at all right now so I've been limited to spending on projects.
That's no problem, sometimes its fun to be frugal, right? Right.
So my hall mirror has had some bare hooks for quite some time now.
I've been meaning to buy or make something to hang on them to replace the Saints Mardi Gras beads that have been hanging there since our big season this fall/winter.
I know, fancy right?
So I hit up Walmart for these 2 plaques for $1.72 each.
Metallic Blue Pearl FolkArt acrylic paint has been my go to color lately for my crafting. Love it!
Painted the edges
Printed some photos
Distressed the edges and applied the pictures with some good ol' Mod Podge.
Embellished a little

and there we go-cute little memories hanging in the hall.
and no more Mardi Gras beads.
all for about $6.00 since I'd already had the paint, paper, embellishments, and modpodge. All I bought is the the little plaques.

Now I've decided I want a new couch.
I'm not so sure how to go frugal on that. ;)
Join us Saturdays at tatertotsandjello.com for the weekend wrap up party!
