Bathroom redo

We designed/built/decorated (you know all that jazz) this house 2 years ago, and I'm ashamed to admit that I've already found myself getting a little bored with my walls.

That's actually rather easy to do considering I'm often too scared to put anything on the actual walls, but I woke up Wednesday morning and spontaneously decided I needed to redo my middle bath.

It's the one room in the house that I never could settle with.
It has NO sunlight (which is the number one reason I probably don't care for it) and I really never could figure out what I wanted to do with it.
So I decided I would make over the bath for Philip for his Valentine's Day gift (which we'll be celebrating later than everyone else... whenever he comes home).

He really likes the look of black trim, and we really love the Saints--so bam.
In 2 days and under $70 we got a new bathroom:

Befores:
I thought a pale yellow would make the room feel bigger and cleaner so I went with a "Buttercream" color from Benjamin Moore.

Afters:
I used a "Bread Basket" gold from Lowes and painted the trim glossy black.
I added a stool for baby bathing and kiddy hand washing in glossy black, added a family Saints picture, Sports Illustrated commemorative Saints Superbowl Win issue, and a Black and Gold monogram K for our last name.
I still have some blank space I want to fill with Black frames and pictures of the baby and us in our Who Dat gear.

I like the new color. At first I thought it made the bathroom feel smaller(which is does) but I think it brings out the richness in the cypress. It's not quite done, but I have a feeling Philip's really going to love it.

  1. Looks elegant and sweet at the same time. Great idea, and great job.
