Canvas Wall LoveLove Art

So my big blank living room wall has been screaming at me to decorate it since... well since we moved in.
It's so big though, I never could find a layout of pictures or art or anything I wanted to commit to.

Many ideas have come and gone for the big wall, but I'm getting tired of it being blank, so I devised a plan.
I bought 2 large white matted 8x10 white frames, 2 smaller white 8x10 frames, and I ordered 2 11x14 canvas prints. I filled the frames with some of my favorite pictures, and then I just had to wait until Philip came home from offshore to hang them for me.

He's on his way home and I'm mopping the floor when I get one of those ideas where you have to [literally] drop everything  you're doing and execute. Not that this was a genius or even exciting idea in the least, but I realized that I wanted a large canvas art as the center of my photo wall. On it I just knew had to be our family motto.

[Is it weird that we have a family motto? Probably so since it's not even a motto. It's just a saying. Something we say a lot. "Lovelove"
See it's nothing special at all. We say lovelove a lot ever since Addie was born.
Like when she falls and bonks her head I pick her up and say "ohhhhlovelove"
or when she is actually being nice to Gracie and petting her "lovelove"
or when we're talking to Daddy via webcam and she's blowing him kisses he said "awwlovelove"
or when we're laying in bed and cuddling under the blankets "lovelove"
Even at the end of emails Philip and I usually end with lovelove.]

Okay anyway, I knew I wanted to paint lovelove on a canvas  for the center of my wall.

I literally stopped what I was doing (mopping) , drove to hobby lobby, bought a canvas (actually a value pack, so I got 2), came home and painted I knew how I wanted to write it and everything

I do that a lot. Not paint, but I get an idea and then I feel like I have to do it now.

"LoveLove" was exactly what I needed for the center of my photo wall (which my husband still hasn't hung up).

I don't know if it qualifies as a "motto", but for me it works, for us it works!

How about you, got a motto or a family saying?

I gotta know people.

  1. Um...
I totally LOVE this! Lovelove this:) Seriously, that is so cool! Great job! I can't wait to see a picture of the "finished" wall! We don't really have a motto yet. Maybe, "Sophie be nice." I say that a lot during the day! haha!

  2. Wow, it looks awesome! I think it's a perfect motto!
No motto's here. I feel like I need one... well, I do say, "Mama Love's" a lot.

Oh, and one time I told my mom and hubby, "Mama hungry." Ha, I was alone with baby a lot that week!

  3. What a great thing piece of art. I'm a little compulsive when it comes to ideas and making them happen NOW. Glad I'm not the only one. :)
