Here @ Home

We've been so crazy busy for the passed... umm 5 weeks.
It's the good kind of busy though, and it's the way I prefer to be.
So in between the birthday parties, showers, Bible studies, family-visiting, church, and shopping I've been able to enjoy some pretty sweet moments here at home.
Gideon is the sweetest, most content little baby, but he really likes to be held and cuddled most of the time. Don't get me wrong, I surely don't mind, but it's difficult to cuddle and do housework, so when he laid contently on the rug for 15-20 minutes while I vacuumed the floors one night last week, I was so pleased!
How ya like my Labradoodle watch dog?
Another awesome thing around here lately: good FOOD!
Yea since I'm not nauseaus at all hours of the day I've been seeming to want to eat anything I can get my hands on. About a week ago we've started back on healthy eating around here though, and it's been really great for Adeline. While I was pregnant I didn't cook or prepare food for her or myself unless it was toast or cereal. So she lost a lot of her awesome I'll-eat-anything skills. It's taken a little while but now that I'm eating better again, she wants to too. So nice to serve her colorful food instead of cheerios and chicken nuggets.

------------------------------------------------

So I've basically been back and forth writing this post for the passed 7 hours of today.
Why?
Because today we ditched the diapers for my 2 year old.
Only big girl panties now, no turning back.

I feel like all of our time is spent in the bathroom now a days while we practice our ABCs and read books over. and over. and over. again., wash wash and rewash hands, sticker up the potty chart, and recite the Turtle Potty Song.
and while these little toes dangle from the big potty...
these little toes kick and curl about in little splashes of water,
and just when we celebrate one pee pee in the potty, I've got another one pee peeing in the tub-and all over himself for that matter.

It's a dirty job, it is.
But at the end of the day I thank God for my messy little blessings.

  1. Do you have a sling, Moby wrap, or some other kind of carrier? That's the only way I survived with my little snuggle bug.

  2. I pray that your little man will send those "perfect second baby" vibes to my baby in the belly:) Good luck potty training!! She's such a big girl now!

  3. good luck with the potty training! definitely a challenge from what i hear... but sounds like she's doing great!

my little eloise likes to be snuggled a lot too... so i can relate on the housework thing! although i don't have a 2 yr old to look after to go along with that!

i wish our lab was a watch dog! she pretty much ignores the baby!
