Summer Play,Eat, & Read

I'm really enjoying this season in our lives.
Having two 2 and under is something that keeps me really busy, but really blessed.
They are both individually fun, but it's really super awesome watching the 2 of them love each other and spend time together. I honestly don't think they've even had one negative encounter since Gideon has been born.
Obviously that's bound to change, but for now I'm really soaking up the admiration and affection the two of them have for each other.
I love these little babies! Obviously ;)

So my weight loss has been going well. Nothing spectacular and nothing disappointing.
I've been losing about a pound a week now. One week I lost 2. It's happening so slowly.
We've been getting our fruit salad on. It has replaced the cookies and other baked yummies that I was whipping up on a weekly (sometimes more) basis. I can't lie though, we don't usually eat it just like that.
Yea, that's more like it.
Another thing I've been enjoying is reading! I get these weird, strict, unwritten rules in my head about pretty much everything, and One of them has only been that I can only have one read at a time. I always felt like if I were reading one book, I could only soley be dedicated to it alone. If I were to read more than one book at any given time, it would be breaking the rules.
And you know what?
I'm a rebel now.
I'm reading/studying not 1, not 2, but 5 things right now.
It's cool because at the end of the day I can run a bath and depending on where my day went and what I feel I need encouraging in, or a laugh, or some advice, or just some worship time I can grab a different read.
These two are my favorite go-tos though:
I highly recommend this book if you're looking at strengthening your prayer life and your understanding of prayer. I wish I'd have gotten my hands on this a couple of years ago, and it's really making a difference in my day to day living and of course my relationship with the good Lord!
I haven't read but a little bit of this one so far, but I really like the humor and her style of writing. It's got some really good and relate-able advice and stories so far. Like!

Anyway, I've got another week full of  8,723 things to do. Also Addie's been enjoying her VBS, Gideon makes 4 months tomorrow, and Wednesday is my "bird" day for Mommy Camp [which I'm really stoked about]. So hopefully I'll find some time to post pictures sharing some of that.
Until next time! <3

  1. i can only read one book at a time... i can't focus on more than one!

that fruit looks yummy! is that marshmallow fluff?

sometimes slow weight loss is the best--because then it seems to stay off longer. it's slow going for this mama too! (although i'm not really trying too hard!)

love the pics of your babies! maybe one day i'll be taking pics like that! (MAYBE, being the key word!)
