22 Weeks

It's so weird that I'm here.
Again.
22 weeks pregnant, for the third time.
I'm just still surprised this is where we are right now.
Sometimes it's overwhelming taking care of the needs of myself and the baby plus two active children and a broken paw dog, oh yea husband too.
In some of my most frustrating-hands full kind of moments I think to myself, "How am I ever going to do all of this while nursing an infant in a few months?" or "What am I going to do with this plus one more baby added." and things of that nature.
I'm so glad I have God to depend on for my strength, because surely I cannot do it alone!
I am overall simply ecstatic to be expanding this family, and I feel so blessed as I get to carry this little Selah. God has really used her to bring me closer to him, and I'm so thankful.
We went to the doctor this morning for a check up, and she's got a healthy heart rate of 159 and is measuring at 22 weeks. The doctor says she's about 2lbs now, but the internet says only 1. She's the size of a spaghetti squash!

She's a kickin little chicken for sure, and I love to feel her dance!
I've been having a lot of contractions lately, for the most part they were Braxton Hicks which are more annoying than anything, but Saturday night for about 3 hours I had really intense, painful contractions. I was kind of worried because the only time I'd ever felt painful contractions like that was after some Pitocin in my other two labors. For the most part they were irregular, but sometimes I was having them 4-5 minutes apart and they hurt so bad I couldn't walk. Through a lot of prayer and the decision to try to drink some water before heading to the ER, the contractions eventually stopped all together. Turns out I was just dehydrated, which makes sense because I was extra nauseous Saturday and didn't drink much at all. So yea if you spend your days chasing around kids while you're 5 1/2 months pregnant remember to hydrate or your night may suck super bad. My doctor said I did the right thing, and he would have had me drink some water hoping the contractions would stop. Phew! I can't be having no "take it easy" or "bed rest"  talk this pregnancy.
So enough of my ginormous [no I'm not carrying twins, no I'm not due tomorrow, yes I am big, OK!?] lime green belly and here's some cute stuff for little Selah!

The baby will be in a bassinet in my room for 3-4 months, but we're already working on the girls room accommodating two. There's a lot of work about to be done in there, and I'm super stoked although Philip is all mopey and whiny about all of the work. It's going to pay off though and look super sweet! I'm excited.

Yay babies!

glad that drinking some water helped with your contractions! yikes!
I love the hat! do you still have your babies wear hats even though you like in LA? (although maybe the AC is a factor!)

    1. I put my newborns in hats until they're a week or two old and can better regulate their body temp.
We'll be outnumbered with three, that's for sure! Thanks girl!

  3. Love the color palate for the little ladies. And, being pregnant is tough enough without also having to care for two little ones... you're amazing, Mamma!
