Peppermint lattes, the smell of pine, glitter-lots of glitter, cozy cuddles, gift wrapping, cookie baking, houses dressed with strands of lights, Christmas movies, music of the merry kind, and lots of story telling about a little baby who was destined to be our King.

Those things rock, and they totally override: spilling coffee on freshly mopped floors, trying to locate to fast children hiding behind green Christmas trees while camouflaged in green winter wear, broken glass from those cool old school lights hitting the cement, fixing burnt fuses on a latter with kids watching while your husband is in another state and explaining electrical things to you over the phone while you cry like a baby about doing "man work", those 4 glass ornaments among the 100 plastic ones that the toddler found and threw, the "he hit me. he pulled my hair. he looked at me. he touched me. he woke up.", the burnt cookies, the payday black Friday where bills ate our money instead of pretty things in Charming Charlie, and did I say broken glass already because there has been a lot of broken glass.

It is all so very worth it. I love this time of celebration in all of its prettiness, and for me new-found chaos.

A Little Winter Dress up for some Plain Jane Shirts

Give me a $3.00 turtle neck, some screen paint, freezer paper, and Christmas Cheer/Give a Hoot Cricut cartridges, and I call that a fun night!

Yea, I should probably get some friends or something. 

Since penguins are popular around our place in the last couple of weeks, Squiggy got herself a brand new navy blue penguin turtle neck. I did the designs small enough so that if she wears the turtle necks underneath a sleeveless dress the decal won't show, but I like the simplicity of it, and so does Squig!

This one reminds me of my Grandma. Every year she'd put out pink and only pink Christmas decorations. I kind of have a lame Christmas-color only policy with my decor, so it was fun making something Christmasy with pink in it too. 

Adeline got an icy blue doe turtleneck, and I'll admit this one's my favorite!

and baby brother gets a buck onesie to match big sister. My two little dears ;) awwwwwa

and because this moose is too cute to ignore, Gideon gets a moose too.

I did all of these using freezer paper stenciling and I used Simply Screen paint too.

I've used a lot of different fabric paints before, and I just find the screen paint lasts through the most washes.

Makes for a fun and easy way to dress up or personalize those plain shirts ya got lyin' around. 

Anyway, I've been grossly sick with pregnancy puking ALL weekend long. 

Seriously, it was some of those days where water wasn't even staying down.

So I'm praying for a better and even productive week.

It's beginning to look a lot like...

yea, yea you've got it--Christmas.

and yes, I know Thanksgiving isn't here yet.

but it's on Thursday, and I'm one of those overly Christmas cheery people who decorate before.

I just like to have my tree up on Thanksgiving, it makes the house feel warmer. 

So.... today we put Christmas music on Pandora and the tree went up!

Once we learned that they are ornaments ["twee balls"] and not balls, the decorating was on a roll. Thanking God my pre-mommy self bought shatter proof ornaments!

Our artificial tree was a lot easier to decorate. I prefer getting a real tree, but when I was pregnant with Adeline my belly broke out in a rash from being picked by pine needles while decorating. 

I wish I had the time to make some homemade ornaments for the tree this year. This is our 4th Christmas in the house, and my Christmas tree looks the same after 4 years. I'm wanting to do something a little different, but I really don't have the time to make anything or the  money for new decor. 

So much to do, so much to do! 

So it's just covered in red, green, gold, and mocha ornaments for now. I may try to go see if I can pick up any cheap and colorful fillers though to freshen it up a little. See, that's why I start early, time for improvements!?!

It was fun this year to have a little helper too, and we're looking forward to more Holiday traditions while Daddy's home. :)
