Flashback Friday

I hope you guys have a Happy Halloween weekend!
We're actually going to be camping this weekend for Halloween.
I've been a little apprehensive about the trip for a few reasons, but all in all I'm hoping to have a good time watching all of the little ones partake in fun little Halloween activities.
Plus Adeline is the cutest pup ever, and I'm so looking forward to watching her play around in her costume.

Anyway, I haven't flashed back with Tia in a while, so I thought I'd flashback today, with probably a lot of you others to last Halloween.

Miss Addie Jean was almost 9 months old, and yes she looks like she's seen a ghost in this picture, haha.
[Look how bald]
Yep, our little angel was an angel for Halloween last year.
Actually, I'm really not very into Halloween. Her costume was something I put together for free two nights before Halloween. I had a bolt of white tulle left over from my wedding, some elastic, and some gold ribbon, and that was just enough to make her look angelic enough for a costume. Plus it was free AND easy!
Can't beat that.

We weren't planning on trick or treating, because:
1. She only had 2 teeth.
2. She can't eat candy.
3. I didn't want to look silly taking an infant trick or treating.

BUT we went up trick or treating.
We went to visit Philip's godchild who was Buzz Lightyear Halloween night, and we ended up going along with their crew door to door for candy.
I was unprepared and without a stroller or a bag, but Philip's aunt lent me both.
By the end of the night, Adeline may have felt a little robbed, while everyone else ate candy and she had cheerios, but all the same she was exhausted from all of the attention.
Awwwa, one one year's time she's grown so much.

Well, I'll see you guys Monday with all of your pictures of your little cuties dressed up and high on sugar.
Be safe ya'll!!

Flashback Friday

This morning I got a text reading "Good morning Tootie."
Philip's away at work, and we hardly get to speak or text or talk because he's got horrible reception on the rig he's on.
It's been almost a month since I've been called Tootie.

He started calling me that when we were 15 or 16, and has only referred to me as that since.
Well, now it's an even mixture of "Tootie" or "Momma".

I know if he calls me by my actual name [Courtney]
a. I'm in trouble
b. He's lost something
c. There's no more toilet paper in the bathroom.
(Haha, kinda kidding on c)

Anyway my friends, coworkers, and even some family even took on my nickname and from the ages 16-20 everyone I knew called me Tootie.
There are even a few people today [besides Philip] that call me Tootie rather than Courtney because they say "Courtney" just sounds weird in reference to me.

Most of the time when I answer to Tootie I do it because it's routine, and well it's just kind of my name.
But mornings like this morning when I haven't heard the  nickname in a while I remember where and who I was when I got it.
Anyway, I thought I'd share some photos from my prime Tootie days
haha since I do have plenty from an upper angle with a point and shoot digital camera.
[Haha, I remember when I made him take this picture, and thought it would be so awesome.
Now I'm laughing out loud at how silly I was.]

Mischew summfin bad, Daddy!

Flashback Friday

I'm back to blogging regularly again!  [Um yea, so you've noticed]
Up until now reading too much makes me a little queasy, so I've been mostly just scanning entries and looking at pictures.
Not no' mo' though.
Daddy's working, and I've had my fair share of television for life, so I'm back in the blogging routine, and well I wanted to flash back with Tia this Friday!
Since fall is starting to peak it's head out, at least in my head anyway, I'm just flashing back to last fall.
This picture was taken exactly a year ago today. Look at those chubby, drooly, sweet cheeks.
Mmmmmmmm my little baby.
Hah, here's a random picture of a homemade chocolate and peanutbutter cake I made last fall.
What? It was in the same album and it looks good.
It was indeed good if I remember correctly.

Let's compare a year ago's baby to today's baby for sake of my dressing her already this morning:

Oh my little pumpkin!
Suddenly I'm in the mood for chocolate cake.

Flashback Friday

I never had any idea how much money a newly wed couple could collect during a money dance.
Maybe it's because I have no concept of numbers or something.
I don't know, I guessed we'd have maybe a couple of hundred dollars to eat out at some nice places at on our honeymoon.
We had enough money to pay for the beach front hotel for a week on our honeymoon.
Holy wow!
We were so grateful to own so much money and then be able to go on our very own vacation.... alone.
and hah
[to those who don't know what a money dance is [[because I don't know if it's just another thing just us Southerners do]] it's a few songs where men line up to dance with the bride and pin money on her, and then women line up to dance with the groom and pin money on him].
I remember being so worried about the money dance.
I was afraid Philip would have a line from the dance floor out of the reception hall door and I'd be dancing with a few pitty dancers.
but I will boast and say that I was impressed and flattered that my line was actually equal to him, and guests kept us dancing (and making money) much longer than we anticipated.
I could have danced with that man all day (my husband that is).
He's the 'I don't dance' type.
Like not even alone in the living room with me.
At all.
Not even with begging.
My wedding day was the only day (besides 3 homecomings and 2 proms)
that my husband danced with me.

Awww can you tell that my anniversary is coming up?
Philip's about to be reminded, because once July rolls around I start walking around the house in my veil.

Swear I'm not that crazy.

Father's Day Flashback

This Sunday will be Philip's 2nd Father's Day.
That'd actually be 3rd if you counted the Father's Day where baby was in my belly.

So since we're all in Daddy mode here,
here's my Flashback dedicated an extraordinary father.

and some daddy things he does I love:
- I love that you really do think she said "dada" first
- I love how you get her to sit still and sleep with you on the couch.
- I love to think about that time you changed her diaper. You know, in the  hooters men's restroom.
- I love that you insist on giving her cookies, icecream, cake, and donuts because you think she's going to like you better for giving her the yummier stuff.
-I love the when you get mad at me for putting her to bed before you say goodnight.
-I love the look on your face when you see the "Daddy" dance.
-I love when you read her stories.
-I love when you two do the grocery shopping together without me.
-I love the way you say, "Give Daddy kissy"
-I love the way you know to make sure turtle is accounted for at all times.
-I love that you love being a daddy so much, because you're so good at it!

Happy Father's Day Weekend!

Flashback Friday

My husband has some thick hair.
For the passed couple of years we just shave it with the clippers to keep him cool during the hard work hours.
Here lately he's rocking this awkward not short, but not long hair cut.
I'm trying to talk him into growing his hair out in the winter like it was when we were in high school, but he's not going for it.

Awwwww the long hair was so cute.

Flashback Friday

I nearly forgot about my flashback today.
After my workout I spend the later part of my morning smelling the sweet aromas of a tiny 2 week old baby girl, who inspired today's [slightly later than normal] flashback.

This is my baby girl at 2 weeks old.
I thought I was having baby fever while holding little Molly this morning, but seeing this picture of Adeline at 2 weeks is really making my ovaries quake!

Flashback Friday

Exactly 2 years ago today my entire life changed.
My husband left for work around 6:30am, and as soon as I heard his truck start I hopped out of bed and took a pregnancy test I just knew I was taking too early.
We decided we wanted a baby and I got off my birth control pills at the beginning of May.
This was the first pregnancy test I'd be taking, and I was convinced I was wasting my time since my period wasn't even due for a week.
"Are you kidding me?" I remember saying that out loud.
Then I paced my bedroom for who knows how long nearly hyperventilating.
I thought I would be happy once we got pregnant, but I was instantly scared to death.
I knew I couldn't tell Philip over the phone while he was at work, so I went shopping for little baby things to replace my table centerpiece for dinner that night.
So that was what was on the center of the table when he came home and sat down for dinner. He's such a guy because he didn't even notice at first. I actually had to ask him if he noticed anything different, which he immediately and slightly worriedly looked at his food. Once he saw the pregnancy test and the little baby socks I'll never forget what my daddy to be husband said first.
"Aw man that means we don't get to do it all the time anymore."
that was immediately followed by:
"It's a girl."
Then he ate his dinner.
and that was that.

Pregnancy sucked for me.
In fact it still terrifies me.
I had:
-hyperemesis gravidarum
-placental tearing
-depression
and frequent dehydration

Those were most definitely the most difficult 10 months of my entire life.
and people wondered why I was so eager to get induced at 40 weeks on my due date.

So for the fun of my flashback, here's some preggo pictures of me and my little Squigaline.

It was all very worth it though. :)

Flashback Friday

Today I'm flashing back to 16 when we had nothing better to do than make out and listen to Norma Jean.
