Gideon 11mo

There's this boy.
He has my heart.
He is now one month shy from his first birthday.
and.
I.
can't believe it.

I remember his first week into this world so crisply.
Really it feels like  just weeks ago.

Time goes by quickly. So quickly.

I've never melted for a sweeter heart.
He's tender and loving and so so happy.
I love this boy.
I'm so grateful for this boy.

Plus he's like the cutest baby in the world.


Gideon weighs about 20lbs.
He's in a 9-12 month size clothes.
He says, "Momma, Dada, Pup pup, no no, eh eh Ahhhh, boy boy, thank you," and I can't remember what else right now.
He's still breastfed, although it's looking like this will be his final month.
He still prefers crawling, but he's been trying to walk here in the past week so that won't be long.
He enjoys Mickey Mouse, Veggie Tales, and The Lion King.
He really, really loves his sister.
He is infatuated with making music, especially drumming.
He loves to speed crawl to the dog food with a watchful eye knowing he will get in trouble every time.
His favorite food is banana, oatmeal, or pizza. and cookie if you count cookies, but he probably just likes them because they're a rare treat.
He is my cuddler.
He likes to wake the sleeping puppy.
He thinks it's hilarious when you wiggle your toes.
He loves to play peekaboo under a towel or blanket.
He waves bye bye, gives five, and gives Mommy kisses.
He is an amazing gift, all of my days. Thank you God! 


So the stores are filled with Valentines, red and pink hearts, and enough chocolate to get lost in.
Every year about this time commercialism consumes our grocery carts, our homes, and our hearts on February 14th.
This year. We won't be celebrating Valentine's Day.
We celebrate love every day.
This February 14th, we will celebrate the tiny boy that we love so much.
Because he'll turn one.
and I may cry.
again.
